Zandra Rhodes Photography

Dame Zandra Rhodes, famous for her fashion. A trend setter and designer for the rich and famous. She opened the London Fashion and Textile Musuem. IKEA is a client of mine as I was asked to go photograph the Dame Zandra in her home, the penthouse above the museum. What a pad! So creative and ‘out there’. A marvell. On entering she greated us with open arms. Such a lovely lady. Zandra once designed dresses for Princess Diana and stage outfits for Freddie Mercury. She has a wonderful way of reliving her experiences and has many stories to tell. It was my task to photograph Zandra Rhodes in her London home with IKEA as they are running a collaboration with her in the summer. So be on the look out for some crazy designs to brighten your homes with. She’s a big fan of the Swedish brand, and is an avid space saver. Dame Zandra Rhodes, 78, is one of Britain’s most sought-after fashion designers, also she is a teacher at Medway College of Art, now the University for the Creative Arts. Born in Chatham, Kent a young Zandra was introduced to the world of fashion by her mother, who […]

London Portrait Photography

London Portrait Photography can sometimes be a little staged or even a little familiar. In that people seem to be replicating portrait styles. Ok I understand everything has been done before. That’s to be expected I guess. However, the difference is that each time I capture a portrait I like to extract a little something special from each person. Something in my photography shows ‘a little bit of them’. A little insight into the character of the person. Whether it’s their ambitions, intrests, or just something they are passionate about. This London Portrait Photographic session took place over 2 days. Located at London Bridge, right next to the River Thames. Nestled within a community of businesses. Creating a hub of exciting electricity. Somewhere that people can let themselves get into their work. Add a little something different. Which is why it was really important to capture their personalities and get that spark to show what they are all about. Black and white photography is a real love of mine. Monochromatic imagery, to me, shows character. If captured correctly it really gives the viewer more infomation than a paragraph of blurb. My brief was loose. Loose enough for me to have […]

Long Furlong Barn Wedding Photography

Long Furlong Wedding Photography, West Sussex Wedding Photographer, Sussex Photographer, that’s the topic of today’s post. Yep a bit of a mouthful! I recently was asked to cover a wedding for a neighbour of mine. He’s become more of a friend of recent. He’s a bloody good bloke. Barney Warner Photography covered this wedding today not just still wedding photography but wedding video as well. We’ll come back to that in future posts so keep your eyes peeled! http://longfurlongbarn.co.uk/ Daniel and Karen had their fantasic wedding here at Long Furlong Barn in Worthing West Sussex. Not my first time shooting here. I did a wedding video there not so long ago too. Fab place. The entire day was held here, from bridal preps with Karen, through to first dance, the whole day. Starting off with Karen, she was very calm, which is a good start. Karen is a bag of laughs. She’s chilled yet has her eye on everything. I guess thats the EPA in her coming through! She had everyone know what their duties were without being bossy. The kids were running around having fun and the hair & makeup being applied. This was a good point for a […]

Automotive Photography Sussex

Automotive Photography Sussex takes place most weeks, however, we’ve been shooting last week at White Box Studio in Horsham, West Sussex. It’s the largest single drive in automotive studio in West Sussex. Specifically in Horsham. It’s an amazing space, along with a model room, portrait photographic bay and a 1000sqft infinity cove or cyc wall that some call them. The infinity cove is over 180 degrees and has a fully mechinised floating ceiling with flash lights above to create that perfect horizon line along body work of vehicles. We photographed this BMW M4 just before a client decided to sell it. He brought a Tesla by the way, a true beauty. However, this M4 was a true beast of a car. Beautifully finished with cream leather interior. It was in showroom condition and sounded so sweet! The car spent the day at the studio and left us with many images to finailise in the post production suite. After any hours sifting through the images capture we decided to use the 10 images mixed into this post. If you’re a keen photographer, fancy shooting a car, are a car photographer or have a car that’s your pride and joy, you need […]

South Lodge Wedding

South Lodge Wedding …. this place!! Wow. So this wasn’t my first time shooting at this fantatsic venue, but we’ll come back to the venue in  amoment. Mid week, a Wednesday, yep that’s right, it’s becoming very popular to get married mid week these days. I love it. This was the wedding of the beautiful Lucy & Ashleigh. What a great couple, very down to earth, up for a giggle. It came across vividly in the photos, which I adore. The day started off at Lucy’s family home in Haywards Heath. Greeted with smiley faces and to my suprise everyone was so calm. Letting the bride know things are under control always seems to help. However I didn’t need to. Tom, (Lucy’s lad), was such a great help, nothing was too much trouble and being taller than myself enabled us to manover the wedding dress to heights I couldn’t reach for photos. Cheers Tom! The whole family were so relaxed. Make up and hair was under way. I fell into a nice relaxing environment, knowing the makeup artist had things chill. Starting with details of the preps, following with some wedding portrait photography and overalls. Always good to get the […]

Germans Ermičs creates Rainbow glass cabin for Instagram at Cannes Lions 2019

Latvian artist Germans Ermičs has creates a Rainbow glass cabin for Instagram bringing social network’s colourful gradient to life. The glass cabin is a collaboration between the two at this years Cannes Lions 2019 festival of creativity.   Reconstructed in Cannes on the beach outside the Majestic Hotel, the 50sqm structure marks the first time ermičs has worked at this scale. The designer is known for his work with colored glass which uses a similar gradient style with strong pigments that fade to clear. Creating furniture, tables, plinths, tanks and mirrors from the same mediums. ‘Where the Rainbow Ends’ – (the title of the work) – Ermičs has replicated this gradient effect with 360-degree perspective, allowing visitors to travel to the ‘End of the Rainbow’. Inside the cabin you can find light effects by london based urban electric project rainbows bouncing around the room. Spectrums of reflected lights beam onto the walls and floors., hosting a white table at its center. The designer’s ombre glass chair sits tucked into the far corner. The lights move to the track of french production duo domenique dumont. When questioning Ermičs regarding the commission, the idea was to inject the Amsterdam based artist signature […]

Fancy food photography in London

This year so far has been pretty amazing, I’ve had the privilege to travel round London shooting Fancy food photography and creating amazing content for foodies social accounts. I love food, but not always photographing it on an empty stomach! It’s been amazing working with so many food producing companies and restaurants, such as Tom’s Kitchen! It’s suprising how much variety there is in London regarding food, but being a multi cultural I don’t suppose it really hit me until I’d travelled around to see. Most of the images below are from coroprate events and it’s always great to get some amazing details of the food supplied to the guests. Such vivid colours and textures, ways to present the food and serve it.   Have a look below and try not to salivate, I struggled whilst photographing this amazing food in London. https://tomskitchen.co.uk/   Some inspiration too 😉 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006t1k5   Here’s a link to see some of my folio work on the food I’ve shot in the past. https://www.barneywarnerphotography.co.uk/food/   And a contact me link if you have any sessions you need capturing, I’m always around and love coming up to London for Food photography. https://www.barneywarnerphotography.co.uk/contact/

Reigate Manor Wedding

Reigate Manor weddings…what can I say. A lovely manor house sitting over the road from Reigate View Point, simply amazing. The Bridal preparations today started in Zoe’s auntie and uncles place in North Holmwood. Such a welcoming bunch and I knew this was going to be a great day of celebrations. The bridal preps started at 11am and the heat was creeping up. I was feeling so hot already in the blazing morning sun. Although tomorrow is set to be even hotter! Zoe and the bridesmaids looked amazing, a beautiful white dress and blue bridesmaides dresses with flower girls Chloe and Lexi and a page boy Tommy. All went smoothly and I left the bride and family taking photos and selfies to head to the church. I was the first there, couldn’t believe it. North Holmwood Church was a grand old place, with dimmly lit arches. I had to stay at the back, which some Priests and Vicars insist. Cona (the groom) arrived with the guys and we got underway capturing some of the preps for the chaps. He’s 6’8″… and built. His brother Preston is similar height, and Dave the 2nd Bestman was again taller than me. But at […]

Biscuit photography with Percys Bakery

Biscuit photography with Percys Bakery was always going to be amazing. I love photographing food, especiually when I get to nibble some of it 😉 A while back I was approached to produce a refresh of imagery for Percys with social media and web in mind. They have great photography already and this was to compliment it, if not make it a little more up to date. I was excited. Not only did I know I was getting a lot of sweet food arriving but this was Percys Bakery. They produce some of the most delectable foods, especially biscuits! These aren’t any old biscuit, honest go buy some and find out for yourself. Percys are in places like Harrods and Selfridges, but hey are breaking out into stores near you soon as they are now stocked by Sainburys too. The new imagery was with some old favourites, as well as some new product. The imagery was to be used alongside the new lines in the new stores. As well as social media. @percysbakery When the product arrived, it was rather overwhelming. So much arrived. My eyes were popping out. With something from every line they produce I knew I’d have […]
