Reigate Manor Wedding

Reigate Manor weddings…what can I say. A lovely manor house sitting over the road from Reigate View Point, simply amazing. The Bridal preparations today started in Zoe’s auntie and uncles place in North Holmwood. Such a welcoming bunch and I knew this was going to be a great day of celebrations. The bridal preps started at 11am and the heat was creeping up. I was feeling so hot already in the blazing morning sun. Although tomorrow is set to be even hotter! Zoe and the bridesmaids looked amazing, a beautiful white dress and blue bridesmaides dresses with flower girls Chloe and Lexi and a page boy Tommy. All went smoothly and I left the bride and family taking photos and selfies to head to the church. I was the first there, couldn’t believe it. North Holmwood Church was a grand old place, with dimmly lit arches. I had to stay at the back, which some Priests and Vicars insist. Cona (the groom) arrived with the guys and we got underway capturing some of the preps for the chaps. He’s 6’8″… and built. His brother Preston is similar height, and Dave the 2nd Bestman was again taller than me. But at […]

A The Ravenswood Wedding with Mr & Mrs Clarke!

The Ravenswood Wedding venue is always special. More so these days as they have around a year ago been taken over and it seems things are going in the right direction. Charlie & Dominic I’ve known for a number of years now. I grew up with Charlie’s sister Rachel. So I knew the family well and even photographed Charlie’s other sister Emma’s wedding a couple of years ago. I arrived to see the bride calm and collected in the most amazing bridal room. Very modern, with spot lights and a huge mirror to see what’s going on. It was bright and airy, a photographers dream. So a good start. The weather was extremely warm at this point and was due to get warmer. So I swiftly got on with things. The dress was hung and prosecco was flowing. Everyone was pumped, me included. I was buzzing. It was a real party before anything had even started. With the hair and makeup artists finished I did a little bride and bridesmaid photography. Then made my way to catch the groom and the lads. Dominic wasn’t very nervous from what I could tell, but he was chirpy and had a beer in […]

Wedding Photography at Hampton Court

Wedding Photography at Hampton Court, what a result! With the sun shining I knew this was going to be a great event. Ever been to Hampton Court, it’s a very picturesque town, very similar to Richmond and Henley on Thames. Hampton Court has the river Thames running through it, and the hotel was smack bang on the river. We arrived at Emma’s parents place in Raynes Park, 5 minutes down the road from where it was all kicking off, she was very calm. The dress was hanging up and makeup was being applied. The girls were drinking fizz and everything was great. Starting with photography of the dress, flowers and other details. Sneeking a few images on the side whilst key moments happened. That’s what I’m all about, the documentary natural approach. Everyone loves this style of unobtrusive photography. The dress was next to go on, whilst Dad popped on his socks! A few snaps of the fam and we were off to see Ben at the church. Now, Ben is a very calm, chilled young man, but as we arrived it was clear to see Ben was slightly nervous. To the extent he didn’t see me at first. We […]

Balcombe Place Sussex

Barney Warner Photography were asked to attend a styled photo shoot one afternoon at the currently renovating Balcombe Place Sussex, on the Balcombe Estate. It was to produce a showcase of a specific room of Balcombe Place. This was extra special as the following contribultors were present working buckets of magic within their specific industries. @inspiredbysusieevans brought the planning and collaboration along with ideas and creative direction. http://www.tigerstolilies.co.uk/ brought some truely beautiful flower arrangements for the table centre pieces. http://www.co-ordination.net/ were present with their amazing room hire furniture and table linen. http://fourgablesgroup.com/ produced some absolutley amazing food that was all hand created and form to showcase really what is possible for your ultimate event hunger issues. Balcombe Place Sussex is such a beautiful building, constructed back in the 1800s, now currently being renovated into a luxury venue perfect for those BIG celebrations. Speaking BIG, the entrance door has to be the largest, heavest door I’ve ever opened. There are many rooms, the entrance hall has a hugh fireplace, but the room in particular that we were working in was ‘The Music Room’, which houses a very old Music Organ, currently not in use but it certainly adds to the very grand feel you […]

Wedding Videography at the Long Furlong Barn

Wedding Videography at the Long Furlong Barn with Louise and Barry. I love wedding videography. It’s something that Barney Warner Photography have always offered but never really pushed. Until now! Here’s a little preview from a recent wedding we covered back in 2017. You can see we had the weather on our side. Always a good thing. Louise and Barry were a great couple to work with. From the start it was clear to see they were both so very relaxed. Taking it all in their stride. The Long Furlong Barn, is a beautiful setting for any event, but weddings especially. With rolling hills and amazing views over the south downs. Intimate, but also lending itself to amazing parties. With it’s Barn ceremony room and a big hall for the wedidng breakfast, it’s clear to see how this venue is great for a wedding. The cottage joining is fab for a bride to prepair in. Airy and bright, with comfortable furninshings too. The day went without any hitch. Bestman was on top form, and everyone had a giggle. Barry is a twin. Identicle. So this was quite funny at points trying to make sure we were filming the right guy, […]

Photographing Weddings at Ghyll Manor

Photographing Weddings at Ghyll Manor with Claire and Dean to show their big day wedding highlights. Slideshow created as a gift to the couple after their big day as a thank you for choosing Barney Warner Photography to be the offical wedding photographers. The wedding was entirely at Ghyll Manor in Rusper, West Sussex.   Barney’s known Dean since a child, his brother was good mates with Dean back at school, so he was really happy to see the family. Claire was also at school with Barney, so straight away everyone was put at ease. Laughter and fun was in such abundance throughout the day and the atmosphere was so easy going. So Photographing Weddings at Ghyll Manor, especially with Claire and Dean was a real pleasure. Claire got ready in the Ghyll Cottage, ajoined to the Manor. There’s lot’s of space and comfortable furnishings. It’s really old so the ceilings are quite low with beautiful wooden beams running through them. Dean was not aware, that Claire had a little suprise for him in store. He’s a mechanic, and a fond lover of cars. So what arrived to take him through the winding countryside to the wedidng venue, was a […]

Top 10 wedding tracks from 2017

Top 10 tracks 2017 After many weddings that I’ve captured this year, it’s no suprise what was the top 10 tracks for first dance and general wedding music. With research and searching the internet, you too can find what is the best of the best and some you might not have even thought of might pop up. There’s always going to be those age long classics, but if you’re looking for something different then see below. I’ve collated and gone through all my wedidngs from 2017 and I photographed at many lovely venues, not just in 2017 but since the start around 15 years ago. Of course I don’t photograph at every wedding I attend, I too like to let my hair down at these happy occasions, but more oftern than not I’m the guy behind the camera creating those life long happy memories for the bride and groom to keep forever. If you’re getting married this year (not long now guys the years nearly up). Or if you’re planning a wedding for 2018/19. Be sure to think of me. Let Barney Warner Photography help created the best day of your lives. Planning your day I’d like to help make […]

Surrey Wedding at Westmead Events

I love the fact that local weddings are always that extra magical, this was a Surrey wedding at Westmead Events, I’d never photographed this venue before, it’s right on my doorstep but still never had the opportunity to visit. Today was a special day, an old school friend was tying the knot, and I had the privilege to be the offical photographer. However, nothing is always ‘plain sailing’… the weather, I’ll touch on this later but we certainly had a bumpy ride today! We started at Sian’s parents where all was calm with the bridal preps. The dress was hung and make up was being applied. The sun was shinning so I bagged some shots in the garden of the dress, the flowers and wedding jewellery. After a few family shots the car arrived and I dashed off to see the groom, Peter, at St Bart’s in Horley. A grand old church and possibly the most well known in town. Peter was nervous, that’s quite normal. I think any groom that isn’t, should be 🙂 Rob the best man did his best to keep things together whilst Lee flew around handing out orders of service. The guests sat down and […]

West Sussex wedding photography at Ghyll Manor

I love staying local, especially in West Sussex, it’s a beautiful part of the south, wedding photography at Ghyll Manor is quite unique. It’s a really beautifully set location with an old manor house and extensive grounds leading down to a gorgeous lake with lilly pads. Recent years of ever increasing popularity lead to the construction of the newer part of this venue which not only gives a great party but also accomodates guests over night. Yesterday was the amazing wedding of Claire and Dean. I’ve known them both for many years and grew up in the same area, went to the same schools and occasionally ‘knocked about’ in similar cirlces of friends, which meant I knew a fair number of the guests which instantly helps when capturing the natural essence of the day. I tend to blend in as best I can with the guests to be as unobtrusive as possible, producing some unstaged moments that the couple can treasure. It was a warm close weather type of day, which can be uncomfortable sometimes in suits, I felt for the guys in the 3 peices but it didn’t distract from the day. Everyone was easy going and up for […]

Engagement photo shoot in Surrey

Today’s engagement photo shoot took place in a wheat field in Surrey, specifically Leigh near Dorking. The couple I’m shooting in 8 weeks time and I’m really looking forward to doing the wedding photography at Southdown’s Manor as it’s a venue I’ve not yet experienced. From the images I’ve seen online I’m quite excited. Although I’ve photographed most venues in Surrey and Sussex for weddings, it’s occasions like these that are that extra bit special, it brings back loads of magic and really allows me to go the extra mile when working on the big day. Getting those new backdrops with a great couple in the foreground is always exciting to put up on the website, let’s hope for amazing weather and a great time! Ross was pacing up and down, I’m guessing he’s not loving the fact he has to be photographed, but once I got them in the viewfinder it all changed. Sarah and Ross have that natural connection and you could clearly see how comfortable they are in each others arms. That makes my job so much easier… Haveing not to worry too much about the compositions but give a little guidence allows me to be more […]
