Product photography in Crawley

Product photography is something we’ve done for decades, it’s one of our favourite things. Getting creative with lighting is really fun. Even back in the old student days getting in the studio with a camera full of film was so exciting and still today there’s a feeling you get shooting something that can appear bland at first and getting a real buzz from a great finished outcome that you’ve created. An exciting look that really impresses the client has got to be good right?! So the latest commision was for a local Crawley firm called Afriso Eurogauge. The products they produce are pretty cool, a specialist UK manufacturer producing level measurement and detection equipment for liquids, powders and granular materials contained in process vessels, storage tanks, silos and hoppers. With 6 new devices it was Barney Warner Photography they gave the comission to. To create something attractive and eye grabbing for their website and the material supplied to customers. There was straight forward product photography and as an addition the below was created, to help excite the customer.   http://www.eurogauge.co.uk/

Press and PR event London Miller Harris Perfumer

Everyone loves to smell good, I think it’s one of the first things people judge you on, however…after being invited to attend and photograph a launch of this new perfume by Miller Harris London things were about to change. Miller Harris were launching 2 new fragrances and wow they were good. With the London Oxford Circus streets above bustling with people going about thier daily business, I entered this cool downstairs cellar, with a massive whallop of flowery sents that hit me like a train! I’ll never forget it. The 2 scents are based upon flower notes and to illustrate the fact that this was a sensory experience. Sarah Rotherham (CEO) had arranged this sensory experience, there were walk through flowing white curtains sprayed with the new perfumes, which ran a slideshow projected through them (something I’d never seen before), another slideshow and lighting arrangement with soothing soundtracks. Then the most amazing live inside garden you’ll ever see, that you walk through to get to this amazing space. Food and drink complimented the 2 fragrances, all vegan dishes with the most amazing fresh canapes I’d ever tried (being made in front of you). 2 cocktails based on flowers with live […]

County Mall PR photographer Crawley

Today’s main event took place at Crawley’s County Mall, where there was a big unveiling of the newest changing facility for people with disabilities. I was employed to cover the event by a PR agent for the project. Which included a state of the art hoist for people with problems climbing onto changing beds, an electronic bed and an electronic basin which all rise and fall to suit the user. It’s so often taken for granted when using public amenities. I think we all tend to over look the facts that standard conveniences give less abled people less opportunities and ease of use. I never would have imagined how important it actually is that a changing bed would need to rise and fall, the basin too. But with a little imagination it’s easy to see why. People simply rush about thier normal lives not giving these daily musts a second thought. But for a disabled person these day to day duties are the most important part of the day. Knowing or not knowing is a reson for going out or staying in. As I arrived, many local celebs, Chris Oxslade, (used to run the local radio station, now a media […]

Car Photography with Retro Ford Magazine

At last!!!… I was sworn to secrecy for so long! Back in March I was approached by Retro Ford magazine to photograph their special 200 page edition. AS the offical photographer, it was my job to arrange the studio, make up artist and model to feature on the front cover, as well as many pages within the magazine. Normally my assistant would do this but I like to be hands on with new clients. Photographing cars was my first passion within the commercial world of photography. As a student I managed to wrangle my way into the car photography world by finding a really well respected photographer and attending a shoot in a top London studio where I first assisted with car photography. However Automotive has always been a great part of my life…  and this experience gave me the bug, I worked for this tog for around a year, then I found myself a more permanent roll locally. The travel everyday to town was a pain. However since then I’ve photographed for many blue chip car brands, such as Suzuki GB, Honda, KIA, BMW and the list goes on! Not only cars, but motorbikes too. I covered national press […]

Commercial Photography Crawley

Today’s shoot was for a new client, they are a PR rep for a really great company called www.clos-o-mat.com   The company help provide disabled people to use public facilites with ease. So not your typical shoot, but then all my work is so varied. This is why I love what I do! (Variety is the spice of life apparently lol).   Thinking like a wheelchair user I could not imagine how difficult it must be not knowing if there would be any public restrooms that could cater for wheelchair access on a day out. Having to ‘hold it in’ is a horrible feeling, but invisage doing that on a daily basis I think it would be a nightmare!! Well Closo-Mat help overcome this by providing new tech to enable wheelchair users access these taken for granted ‘daily musts’. Today it was my task to go capture the restroom and its surroundings to show the local area and its location within, to accompany the photography of the new tech. Tilgate Lakes and the Nature Centre are a family favourite, my twin children simply love coming to this venue, to visit animals, to walk around the lakes, to sit and enjoy […]

Head shot Photography – You need it

Many businesses now have multiple employees, the websites often have a list of the employees with a portrait of that employee or maybe team shots. What stands out the most is a professional head shot. Too many times I see that the company have taken a dodgy shot on their phone and uploaded it. This is a major fault with lots of websites. It’s the first place a client will look to see what experience the company has, with a phone portrait of an employee screams rubbish, amature and the company doesn’t really care. It’s imperative to employ a professional photographer with lighting and a solid camera, spend some money and get some quality photography on your website, if you want people to take you seriously. You can find some examples of heads shots we’ve captured below, but not all need to be taken on the same backdrops. As a professional photographer being in the business many years now I’ve captured head shots in many many ways. Photographing at desks, on roof tops in London, by rivers and lakes, even up trees. It all depends on the nature of your business and what you do. If you are a corporate […]
